ContactSnap ("the app", "we", "us") is a business card scanner that lets you capture
business cards with your camera and save the contact details to your account. This policy
explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.
Information we collect
Account information — your name and email address, used to create and sign you in to your account.
Contact data you scan — when you scan a business card, we collect and store the information on it (such as name, job title, company, email address, phone number, physical address, website, and social handles) so you can access your contacts across your devices.
Card images — the photo you capture of a card is sent to our servers to extract the text, and may be stored so you can view the original later.
A user identifier — an account ID we use to associate your data with your account.
How we use your information
We use the information solely to provide the app's functionality:
Authenticating you and keeping your account secure.
Extracting and storing contact details from the cards you scan.
Syncing your contacts across the devices you sign in to.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Card images are processed by a third-party
AI text-extraction service for the sole purpose of reading the card; they are not used
for advertising or sold. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data retention and deletion
Your contacts are stored on your account until you delete them.
Deleted contacts are moved to "Recently Deleted" and kept for 30 days so you can restore them, after which they are permanently removed.
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the address below.
Data security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on access-controlled servers.
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
Children's privacy
ContactSnap is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
